Director of Finance

Position Overview: 

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Recruitment, has partnered with our client a government funded organization, in the search for a Director of Finance. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will oversee financial management, ensure efficient financial processes, strategic planning, and contribute to achieving the organization's objectives. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of accounting such as AP, AR, and Payroll in an efficient and effective manner
• Lead, guide, and evaluate the accounting department with effective management and mentoring skills.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, and set strategic objectives
• Oversee completion of all daily accounting tasks and regulatory reporting
• Collaborate with both internal team members and external accountants to compile year-end working papers and review engagement schedules.
• Internal financial statement preparation along with preparation of other financial reports following generally accepted accounting principles
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of policies, processes, and procedures to identify areas for improvement 
• Other financial and operational reports as required

Requirements:  

• A Canadian professional Accounting Designation CPA (CA, CGA, CMA)
• Proficient with technology and strong Excel skills.
• Demonstrated strong leadership abilities
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ability to work independently while leading a team
• This is an in-office opportunity in the Selkirk area

Rewards:
