Job description:
The Community Skills Worker (CSW) provide services and supports to children who are experiencing an emotional disorder or who are at high risk of developing an emotional disorder. The CSW coordinates and implements activities within the community which will enhance the self-confidence and self-esteem of participants while following goals and an individualized support plan. Uses effective strategies of play, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy in working with youth with complex trauma histories, attachment issues, and challenging behaviors.
Education/Experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Experience needs to be verifiable and include teaching of social skills, life skills, or coping skills.
