Job Title: IT Scrum Project Manager

Position Overview:
The IT Scrum Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the Gwinnett County Project Management Office, driving the successful delivery of technology projects using Agile methodologies. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing project timelines, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex IT solutions in a government or public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Leadership & Facilitation:
- Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure Agile principles and Scrum framework are adhered to, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate collaboration between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, promoting Agile best practices and team accountability.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track project performance using Agile metrics (e.g., burn-down charts, velocity).
- Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PMP, CSM, or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in IT project management with at least 3 years as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
- Proven experience managing complex IT projects, preferably within government or public sector organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks, with the ability to adapt practices to meet organizational needs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
