Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Directional Drill Operators and Drill Locators to join our team. This role involves operating and guiding directional drilling equipment for underground utility installations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of OSP (Outside Plant) operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
TRAVEL IS REQUIRED. This job will take you all over the United States including but not limited to TX,OK,MO,KS,FL,PA on a 10 day turn. Per Diem and hotel stays provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate directional drilling machinery to install underground utilities such as fiber, conduit, and other infrastructure.
- Accurately locate drill heads and guide them to ensure precision during drilling operations.
- Conduct potholing and pre-drilling work to identify potential obstacles and ensure safe drilling.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with drill crews, laborers, and project managers to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure the job site complies with safety standards.
- Document daily work activities, including job progress, issues, and completed tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience as a Directional Drill Operator and Locator in OSP operations.
- Knowledge of various ground conditions and how they affect drilling performance.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, maps, and utility layouts.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to job site demands.

- Valid CDL STRONGLY PREFERRED
