What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting/HR Assistant position at Lancaster Arts Hotel?
Lancaster Arts Hotel, a historic hotel located just steps from the heart of Lancaster, is looking for an Accounting/Human Resources Assistant to join our growing team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the team by providing support to both the accounting department and the management team.
This position requires some general accounting and human resources knowledge.
This is a Monday – Wednesday, day shift position. Weekends off.
Responsibilities Include:
Accounting
- Open and distribute mail following established procedures
- Input invoices into the accounting system
- Collaborate with the GM to verify bank/safe contents
- Support the setup of new vendor accounts
- Conduct research on past due invoices
- Accurately record credit card invoices
- Accurately record A/R payments
- Assist with the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting files
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
- ADP experience helpful
Human Resources
- Place job advertisements on recruiting platform(s), screen candidates and schedule interviews
- Facilitate pre-employment testing as required
- Guide new employees through onboarding paperwork
- Maintain employee attendance records and track paid time off
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing
- Update and manage health insurance enrollments
- Maintain employee personnel files while protecting confidential information
- Additional HR duties as assigned
Requirements
- Some experience in accounting and human resources is preferred
- Strong computer skills are preferred
- High School Diploma is required, relevant college coursework is beneficial
- The ability to communicate professionally via phone, email, in-person, etc.
- Must be very detail oriented and organized
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Experience with administrative functions in an office and/or hospitality setting is preferred
