Description
Job Summary:
This position exists to give oversight to the Worship Arts program and to teach select courses within the program according to the candidate’s expertise.
Department: Music, Worship and Performing arts
Reports to: MWPA Department Chairs
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Requirements:
- Cartage of musical instruments.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum Master’s degree in a music-related discipline.
- Significant experience as a musical leader.
- Significant experience in church worship arts ministries.
- Teaching experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to work collaboratively.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Administrative:
- Interface with the President’s office and Campus Pastor through monthly meetings and email correspondence.
- Manage the recruitment and training of worship teams for chapel.
- Give oversight and vision to the Worship arts program on campus (curricular and non-curricular).
- Coordinate requests for worship teams.
Academic:
- Actively engage with the MWPA chair in the revision of the Worship arts program and the creation of a production/commercial music curriculum.
- Advise matriculated Worship arts students and actively participate in recruitment of prospective Worship arts and Commercial music majors.
- Teach one of the rostered courses in the current Worship Arts curriculum each semester (Administrative Process in Worship Arts, Biblical and Theological Issues in Worship, Communicating Biblical Truth, Rhythm Section Methods).
- Primary instructor for Chapel Guild (ENS 104) in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Other courses as assigned in the candidate’s area of expertise.
