- At least 4 years’ wage earning welding experience
- AWS certification or recognized industry credentials
- CWI or CWE preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to pass the Occupational Competency Assessment in Welding
- Ability to obtain Vocational certification through course work
- FBI, State and Child Abuse Clearances
- Assist students to develop skills which will enhance student ability to obtain and maintain employment
- Develop appropriate course materials and aids including total written curriculum, lesson plans, instruction sheets, visual aids, and other related materials
- Plans individual and group activities to stimulate competency in the industry;
- Serve as mentor and teacher in the development of specific skills relevant to the industry;
- Follow established curriculum to keep current with industry standards and trends; ability to assist students in completing 135 items on the Pennsylvania Department of Education task list
- Evaluate student progress and develop reports and other feedback materials/assessments

JOB SUMMARY: The Welding Instructor will provide theoretical and hands-on instruction to high school students in activities and competencies designed to promote social, intellectual and employment growth. The instructor will be responsible for developing and conducting learning programs and associated materials for students with the ultimate goal of producing entry-level skilled and employable students. This program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and instruction in welding processes to include but not limited to SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
