ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist the CIO in developing and executing the IT strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals.
- Lead and mentor IT staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring all systems and processes run smoothly.
- Act as the CIO’s representative in meeting and decision-making processes when required.
- Manage and oversee IT projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, adjust plans as necessary, and provide regular updates to the CIO and other senior leaders.
- Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and deployment of IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to optimize system performance and security.
- Ensure IT operations comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Lead efforts to protect the organization’s data and IT systems from cybersecurity threats, implementing robust security measures.
- Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Assist in the development and management of the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions, making recommendations to the CIO for adoption.
- Contribute to the strategic planning process by identifying opportunities for technology to support and enhance business operations.
