Position Title: Director of MLS Program (Med Lab Science Director of Education)
Location: 211 Fourth Street, Alexandria, LA 71301

We are seeking a Director of MLS Program (Med Lab Science Director of Education) who will be responsible for the overall organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of the MLS Education program. The role involves curriculum planning, development, and management of faculty/staff in addition to maintaining NAACLS accreditation for the program. Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Oversee the organization and administration of the MLS Education program, ensuring that all aspects, including instruction, evaluation, and quality improvement, are met effectively.
- Accreditation: Maintain NAACLS accreditation for the program and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Budget Management: Participate in the budget preparation process for the MLS Education program.
- Student Engagement: Coordinate all student learning activities, including lectures, tests, and grades, while maintaining regular contact with students, faculty, and program personnel.
- Training & Compliance: Assist in the teaching and training of both students and employees in laboratory tasks. Ensure adherence to hospital and laboratory department policies and procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Apply effective problem-solving skills and sound judgment in addressing issues within the program.
- Faculty Appointment: Hold a faculty or clinical appointment at the sponsoring institution.
Education:
Master’s or Doctoral degree required.
Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field is required.
Completion of a NAACLS-approved school of Medical Technology is preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years of teaching experience in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
Certifications/Licenses:
ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, or equivalent nationally recognized certification/licensure for non-U.S. programs.
Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with education methods, administration, and NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification processes. Benefits:

Salary & Additional Compensation:
Salary Range: $26 - $36.61/hr ($54k - $76k), with potential to go up to $40/hr for a strong candidate (based on experience).
Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case (Not guaranteed).
Relocation Assistance: Up to $7k (case-by-case basis)
