Responsibilities:
This position involves a range of responsibilities, including testing chemicals for impurities, performing quality assurance, and conducting regular tests to determine the composition of products or samples. You will also be responsible for tracking inventory, prioritizing orders, and maintaining lab equipment.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be required to document processes during each chemical test and follow environmental regulations. This may involve reviewing newly published safety protocols, preparing chemical solutions, and conducting lab tests to ensure chemical safety.
To excel in this role, you will need a strong understanding of chemistry principles, laboratory operations, and analytical methods. You will also need excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or another field of science with a minimum of 12 semester hours in Chemistry required
- Prior experience and knowledge of boiler/water analysis preferred
- Previous work experience in a water treatment plant preferred
- Experience and competency in using, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation/equipment; knowledge of proper analytical methods and techniques
