What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alfalfa Research Assistant position at Land O'Lakes?
At Land O'Lakes, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Alfalfa Research Assistant. This seasonal position will provide support to our research technicians in the alfalfa breeding program, assisting with field, greenhouse, and laboratory activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including transplanting, harvesting, hoeing, sample grinding, and near-infrared (NIRS) analysis. They will also assist with driving small lawn tractors and other small vehicles to help with tasks around the station, as well as maintaining alfalfa plants in the greenhouse.
We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and quality record keeping skills, as alfalfa pollination requires good eye-hand coordination and precision. The ideal candidate will have 6 months of continuous work experience and be at least 18 years old.
