Manufacturing Supervisor

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business, helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and supervision to the production departments.
• Oversee all manufacturing activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory yields, and cost objectives.
• Manage process introductions, production procedures, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure strong documentation and communication of shift activities to other shifts and management.

Key Areas of Focus:

• EHS: Responsible for following and enforcing company environmental, health, and safety policies and associated training.
• Staff/Staffing: Manage direct and temporary labor services to provide maximum throughput while minimizing costs.
• Technical: Understand operational and technical issues and work directly with plant management and the technical group to identify required objectives and allocate resources appropriately.
• Operations: Provide leadership within the process areas in an effort to drive process performance and improvements.

Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree and 1 year manufacturing supervisory experience OR High school diploma and 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change at all levels.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Possess integrity in products, processes, and relationships.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, training, coaching, analytical problem solving/root cause analysis, risk assessments, and customer awareness skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Animal Science, Safety, or QA related field.
• 3 years working a QA role, EH&S related role, or manufacturing supervisory role.

Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN

Operational Hours: Plant operates 5 days a week; weekends as needed. This role is on 1st Shift (Flexible to start between 5:00 am and 7:00 am) but may need to fill in on other shifts as necessary to keep up with business needs.
