What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Research Associate position at Land O'Lakes?

We are excited to start recruiting for our Summer Research Technicians who will work in the alfalfa breeding program. This seasonal position will assist with field, greenhouse, and laboratory activities.
The tasks to include but not limited to:
- Assist with field activities relating to alfalfa research such as transplanting, harvesting, hoeing, sample grinding and near-infrared (NIRS) analysis
- This position will also involve driving small lawn tractors and other small vehicles to help with tasks around the station, including lawn care and maintenance
- Assist with care and maintenance of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse, as well as hand pollinations of alfalfa flowers, cuttings, seeding and sorting of alfalfa
- Tasks will vary depending on season and may require off-station day travel
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, 18 years or older and 6 months of continuous work experience. Steel Toed Shoes may be required for certain activities, and FGI will provide an allowance for PPE requirements.
