Legal and Compliance Associate (New York, NY): Our client, a majority women owned alternative asset management firm is seeking a Legal and Compliance associate to join their team. This position will report to the Chief Administrative Officer as well as General Counsel, day to day function will be partly administrative but mostly legal and compliance focused.

- Compensation: 100-140k base bonus (150-180k all in)
Responsibilities:
- Manage various compliance projects including the restricted list, brokerage statements and transaction reports
- Assist generally in collaborative approach to compliance obligations of SEC-registered investment adviser (e.g., revision, administration and testing of compliance manual, policies and procedures and related documentation)
- Assist in ongoing compliance training of existing employees and orientation for new hires
- Assist with regulatory filings and disclosure documents (e.g., Form ADV, Form PF, PPMs, Sub-Docs, etc.)
- Assist with day-to-day legal matters pertaining to fund and Corbin operations (e.g., participation on committees, NDAs, service provider arrangements, investor queries and requests)
- Assist with corporate governance (e.g., schedule board meetings, take minutes, circulate resolutions, etc.)
- Assist in post-closing deal matters, including monitoring receipt of final documents and tear sheets describing the completed deal
- Coordinate company events with other admins, as needed
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as directed.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including expense reports, travel arrangements, and document management.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings/calls, and coordinate guest arrivals.
- Cover main phone line as part of the administrative team.
- Handle signature requests via DocuSign and manage fully executed documents.
- Track vendor contract renewals and maintain document filing.
- Assist with processing legal bills and allocation calculations.
Qualifications:
- An ideal candidate has 2 years professional legal assistance or paralegal experience in a financial firm.
- Ambitious self-starter with highly proactive mentality and ability to anticipate.
- Team player with emphasis on ability to work well with people.
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
