A leading real estate investment firm, established in 1982, has managed over $30 billion in real estate assets for institutional investors globally. They are seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join their Investor Accounting team in Boston, MA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review monthly financial reports prepared by third-party property managers for assigned real estate assets
- Oversee third-party property managers and provide guidance on accounting practices
- Review financial performance, evaluate NOI fluctuations, and review outstanding tenant receivables
- Conduct periodic desk top audits and communicate results to Asset Managers
- Complete quarterly and annual financial close, assist with financial statements, and prepare quarterly debt covenants
- Coordinate with external audit and tax teams on required deliverables
- Prepare quarterly NCREIF deliverables and review property and fund level returns
- Calculate monthly management fees, prepare forecasts, and review monthly fund level bank reconciliations
- Prepare fund level wire and draw requests, and handle investment acquisition and disposition entries
- Undergraduate degree in accounting strongly preferred
- 2-3 years of accounting experience required
- Public Accounting & Real Estate Accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills critical; Yardi familiarity a plus
