- Provides leadership and oversight of the daily operations of the finance department and financial services provided throughout Landis Communities.
- Leads and coordinates the annual audit.
- Responsible for monthly closing tasks, such as advance fee recording and tracking, investments, accruals, allocations and eliminations.
- Leads and supervises the billing team and accounting manager
- Ensures Medicare/Medicaid certification compliance including maintain the 855A and likewise submission/compliance
- Prepares monthly financial statements in collaboration with the VP of Finance.
- Prepares monthly supplementary financial information for analysis (cash flow, etc.).
- Attends meetings of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Member of the Landis Homes Operations Team.
- Member of the APG Controllers Peer Group.
- Participates in the annual budget process providing support to the CFO and Senior Financial Analyst, works collaboratively with all other Department Directors to ensure department specific operating budgets for capital, labor, and expenses are developed and meet the financial objectives determined.
- Promotes and ensures procedures that maintain confidentiality of financial information for Landis Communities and its entities as well as residents, tenants, and clients.
- Understands and models the Honoring Lives principles in leadership, relationships and customer service.
- Supervises, motivates, trains, and defines the organization's standards and communicates effectively with staff using team leadership concepts.
- Provides and supports growth and development opportunities for team members.
- Completes One 2 One Conversations with team members in a timely fashion.
- Communicates calmly and gently with residents, family members and staff, exhibiting patience, compassion, understanding and sensitivity.
- Participates in training and development opportunities as offered.
- Develops and reviews strategic plan annually and identifies action plans to achieve those objectives.

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Daily walking, standing, sitting, talking and hearing in person and on phone, vision for close work and depth perception, using hands to feel or hold, maintaining balance, repetitive motion, keyboarding, bending, twisting, crouching, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Occasional driving of a car.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- CPA or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 5 years work experience in accounting required.
- Prior experience in related field or supervisory setting required.
- Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
- Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrates leadership, management skills, dependability and a positive demeanor.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and respect for the values and mission of the organization and its Mennonite/Anabaptist connections.
