Requirements:
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil excavation estimating.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software and cost management systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for excavation, grading, and utilities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil excavation projects including site preparation, grading, trenching, and utility installation.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimating.
- Review and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project requirements.
- Calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for excavation and grading projects.
- Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including cost reports and bid proposals.
- Provide support in negotiating and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

- Strong knowledge of excavation and grading processes, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
