OVERVIEW: The Medical Assistant supports patients through the intake assessment process and follow ups during their treatment, ensuring safety and compliance. The individual performs critical functions, including monitoring patient vital signs, conducting urine tests, drawing blood, and assisting the skin assessment. They will work efficiently to provide the highest level of care in accordance with regulatory standards.

- Maintain demonstration of values and mission statement
- Facilitate urinary drug screens, vitals, breathalyzer tests, skin assessments and other tasks requested by the nurse
- Prepare the intake and rounding rooms for patient and provider, and manages inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Provide companionship and warmth through completing medical processes
- Respond to medical emergencies and assists the nurse as directed
- Guarantee technology is functioning properly prior to patient arrival
- Prepare daily lists of patients needing care for the scheduling team and providers
- Confirm all consents are completed and signed by patient prior to appointment
- Obtain outside patient records as needed
- Manage preauthorization's for medications
- Gather patients from the milieu and ensures their prompt arrival to provider appointments
- Communicate with facility RN to review overnight issues
- Establish and maintain communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and patient satisfaction
- Respect and protect patient confidence and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private
- Follow all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions
- Retain the ability to de-escalate situations
- Maintain a secure, clean, and healthy work environment
- Work as a highly dependable, independent member of the treatment team
- Be a committed team player willing to learn new skill sets
- Maintain an understanding medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
