At Landoll’s Mohican Castle, we’re known for our breathtaking setting—and we need someone who takes just as much pride in maintaining it as we do. We’re looking for a Maintenance & Grounds Lead whose primary focus will be on keeping our historic grounds and outdoor spaces pristine, while also assisting with general maintenance inside the Castle and surrounding buildings.

Position Summary

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives outdoors but also has a strong working knowledge of interior maintenance, including basic construction, plumbing, and electrical work. The Maintenance & Grounds Technician plays a key role in maintaining both the beauty and functionality of the property—ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest, every season.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all outdoor spaces, including mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, leaf removal, mulching, and trail upkeep.
• Perform seasonal work such as snow removal, salting, and installing holiday lights and decorations.
• Assist with light construction, repairs, and interior maintenance across guest rooms, staff areas, and public spaces.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC-related maintenance tasks.
• Support minor renovation projects and help with setup for special events.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, snow equipment, etc.) safely and effectively.
• Monitor and repair outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, and water features as needed.
• Be available for emergency or weather-related calls and snow events, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or construction—preferably in hospitality or facilities.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Comfortable using ladders and working at heights for outdoor lighting or gutter access.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles and equipment.
• Must be able to start immediately and work weekends (with two weekdays off).

Physical Demands & Environment

• Frequent standing, bending, lifting (50 lbs), and use of hand tools.
• Both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Occasional high-noise environment when using equipment or tools.
• Flexible, self-motivated, and ready to adapt to changing priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
