Job Summary
We are seeking a General Manager to lead our team and operations at Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club in Northwest Chicago. This is an opportunity to join a premier boutique golf club recognized for its beautiful 18-hole course, tree-lined fairways, and peaceful ponds.

Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the club, including activities, member and guest relations, employee interactions, and community engagement.
- Implement and monitor budgets, ensuring quality products and services that meet member and guest expectations.
- Mentor and develop staff to provide outstanding member and guest service.
- Oversee hiring, management, and development of department heads, including the food and beverage manager, golf course superintendent, head golf professional, assistant general manager, membership director, and other department heads.
- Identify and manage the club's budget, handle daily financial needs, and process accounts receivables.
- Maintain and update employee files and records.
- Develop and implement a course marketing plan annually.
- Serve as the community liaison for the club, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Establish and disseminate a basic management philosophy to guide course personnel toward optimal results, employee morale, and member/guest satisfaction.
- Ensure timely completion of Human Resources, payroll, administrative, and reporting requirements set by the Company.
- Maintain confidentiality of Company, club, and employee information.
- Enforce comprehensive safety programs for employees, members, and guests on the course, complying with local, state, and federal laws.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of personnel and business management principles and practices.
- Broad knowledge of food and beverage operations, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to plan, assign, and supervise subordinate work in golf course operations.
- Capacity to anticipate and identify risks and problems, developing risk mitigation measures, business solutions, and action plans.
- Skilled in planning and organization, managing multiple tasks or projects.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems.
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, business management, agronomy, turf management, or related field preferred.
Physical Demands
Regularly read documents, computer screens, answer phones, and communicate in person (75-100%). Occasionally utilize a phone, type, and write (0-50%).
