Location: Hybrid Jacksonville, FL
Schedule: Rotating 4 days on/4 days off, 6am-6pm. Schedule will include Weekends and Holidays.
Salary Range: $17.72 - $22.15 per hour, depending on experience
What work will you perform?
In this role, you will provide key regulatory compliance service and after-hours assistance to the operators (independent driver owner operators, aka BCO’s) of Landstar. The Safety and Compliance Representative ensures compliance with state, federal regulations and Landstar policy. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor while assisting drivers with complicated and sometimes emotional situations will help you be successful. Your previous computer experience will help you complete the required data entry and reporting tasks associated with the needs of the Compliance Department.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform verification audits on operators' logs to ensure accuracy and notify appropriate operation of any discrepancies.
Educate and counsel operators, agents, and/or contractors on Hours of Service regulations and how to stay compliant
Monitor operators on ELDs to ensure Hours of Service Compliance
Maintain spreadsheets and various reports
Handle inbound and outbound calls, and provide quality customer service
Manage after-hours calls for multiple Safety and Compliance departments while providing support to other departments with compliance matters.
Participate in notifications based on the required drug testing program.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1 year experience in customer service
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
6 months of Safety and/or Compliance experience in the transportation industry
6 months of experience handling inbound calls requiring a high level of urgency, composure, and confidentiality
DOT regulation experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
Ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining composure
Able to work with minimum supervision using regulatory guidelines available.
Strong communication skills in all modes
Ability to effectively counsel and educate others.
Ability to analyze and interpret data.
Strong organizational skills required.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
