Position: Assistant Professor for Criminal Justice
Department: Academic Affairs - Criminal Justice
Reports to: Department Chair of Criminal Justice
Classification: Full-time Exempt
Remote Work: Flexible Traditional Face-to-Face and Online Instruction
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop student learning outcomes.
- Create course objectives.
- Implement and instruct students using various instructional modes for traditional, hybrid or online setting.
- Execute teaching strategies, monitor, and evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate student records.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Serve on various college committees.
- Participate in department, division, and college meetings.
- Attend scheduled business program / colloquial, division, and college staff meetings.
- Contribute to the college and community environment.
- Teaching 4-5 classes (12-15 hours) each semester.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A Doctorate in Criminal Justice is preferred.
- Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice will be considered.
- The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, hybrid courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
- The ability to lift 10lb, 1% of the time.
- Position may require some walking and the ability to climb stairs.
