Applicant Notification:	Department Information Our Business, Technology, and Trades Division at Lane Community College is seeking to expand its pool of part-time faculty to teach apprenticeship courses. Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning. This is an applicant pool posting for 2024-2025. The assigned location for this position is at the Lane Community College's main campus located in Eugene, Oregon. Required QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:	Associate of Applied Science OR Oregon Journeyman License in the following classifications (General Journeyman, Manufacturing Plant Electrician, or Limited Maintenance Electrician)
Required Experience:	Two (2) years of experience in the related trade. Licensed Journeyman or Supervising Electrician experience.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education	Associates Degree within the Construction Industry.
Preferred Experience	Demonstrable, real-world experience in electrical theory, national electrical code, motors and motor controls, and programmable logic controllers. Construction or industrial foreman/supervision in an industrial setting. Teaching or construction/industrial-related experience. Experience with apprenticeship training programs and standards.

Position Purpose:	The Apprenticeship Program Part-Time Faculty position will be responsible for apprenticeship-related training courses. The primary responsibility of the apprenticeship instructor is to provide quality teaching in a full range of community college apprenticeship courses. Instructors are needed for Manufacturing Plant Electricians. All of these classes currently include remote and/or online learning while presenting innovative lecture and lab components. The accompanying instruction, depending on the class, may be delivered in several formats which include both traditional lectures and online presentations. Desired qualities include a relatively diverse background with a mix of teaching and project management experience as well as hands-on experience within the construction industry.
Essential Functions:	Essential Functions Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within the Apprenticeship Program. Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes. Engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum. Provide institutional support and community service. Participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives. Support the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives. Adapt and conform to local industry advisory committee expectations of program proficiencies. Plan, write, and administer Apprenticeship curricula to adhere to BOLI State-approved standards and related training requirements to include instruction in varied learning environments, such as in-person, online, remote, and hybrid formats. Comply with the individual Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee's standards and expectations. Stay current with State and Federal code updates and align the curriculum accordingly. Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in keeping with and furtherance of course objectives and program learning outcomes. Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, and in accordance with course objectives and program learning outcomes. Maintain confidential student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning and in adherence to federal, state, and college safety standards and practices. Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes. Use a Learning Management System (e.g. Moodle) to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication. Set up and prepare class/lab materials prior to the start of class to ensure timeliness and student success in the classroom and the lab spaces. Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students. Other duties as assigned. Support student learning through activities that include Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering, and related functions. Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching. Collegial participation in faculty performance evaluation process. Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations. Maintain physical campus presence for instruction and daily needs of students, departments, college, and community, as specified in the College Operations Policies and Procedures. Maintain requirements for student records, attendance, grades, and/or other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, and inventory. Curriculum Delivery Provide high-quality classroom instruction. Create course content, develop and revise course content and materials. Establish learning outcomes consistent with core ability outcomes, assess outcomes using appropriate assessment tools, and use assessment results to inform improvements at a program and course level. Incorporate college values into the curriculum and promote a respectful learning environment including facilitating awareness of multicultural and diversity issues in curricula. Teach and develop all class syllabi and course materials, in a form that can be directly delivered to, and used by, students. Confer with students on course materials. Deliver curriculum to students in traditional and online formats. Online Teaching and Student Support Engage within the online course environment to interact with students, help guide discussions and provide opportunities for students' voices to be heard. Monitor student progress and provide reasonable coaching and assistance to struggling students towards success. Review and grade all work submitted by students and provide timely and substantive feedback. Provide timely response to student inquiries. Ensure that all materials created comply with College Policies and Procedures for technology and accessibility, and applicable accessibility laws. Post student attendance, grades, and course syllabus in accordance with college timelines. Use current best practices, technologies and pedagogies for teaching online.
