What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lang Masonry SPD - Brick/Block Laborer position at Lang Masonry SPD?
Work year round, residential and small commercial masonry jobs in Columbus, Ohio.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Brick/Block Laborer keeps the job site running smoothly by ensuring masons have the necessary supplies, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting with various tasks on residential and small commercial masonry projects.
ROUTINE DUTIES:
- Mix mortar and grout manually or with machines, according to standard formulas.
- Erect scaffolding as needed for masonry work.
- Cut materials to specified sizes using power saws.
- Assist in the preparation, installation, and repair of brick, block, and stone surfaces.
- Locate and supply materials to masons, following job sequences.
- Store and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
- Clean work surfaces, tools, and job sites.
- Move and position materials using hoists, dollies, or manual labor.
- Remove excess grout or residue from joints, and repair damaged brick/block surfaces.
- Operate construction lifts and equipment as needed.
- Communicate low supply levels to Foreman to prevent delays.
- Be proactive in asking for help and/or what to do next.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- No prior experience required.
- Basic knowledge of masonry tools and materials is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
