Duties
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices and techniques.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical and mental health status.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
Skills
- Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and communication purposes.
- Experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining client privacy.
- Familiarity with resident rights in assisted living or home care settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with seniors or individuals in need of care.
