What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Ticket Taker position at Lansing Lugnuts?
Summary/Objective:
Under the direction of the Director, Stadium Operations, the ticket taker is responsible to scan tickets and answer questions. This is a part-time, seasonal position (Game Day only) that requires days, nights, weekends and some holidays. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Greets and acknowledges guests.
- Scans guest’s tickets at main or picnic gates.
- Directs guests to ticket office to resolve any ticket issues.
- Must be able to stand for duration of the game.
- Ability to stay calm and assist guests in case of emergency; medical situation, evacuation, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in customer service and/or sporting event venues is a plus.
- Excellent guest service skills; ability to go above and beyond to create a great guest experience.
- Good communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Capable of following job guidelines and supervisors' instructions.
Work Environment
The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to stand for entire length of shift.
- Ability to use ticket scanner.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently, if needed.
- Visual acuity sufficient to see and observe guests in many sections.
Position Type
This is a part-time position. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
