In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a Grant Compliance Officer to monitor and maintaining the expensing and encumbering of grant funds for several departments and schools.
\n- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred, or other criteria as acceptable to the Lansing Board of Education.
- Three (3) or more years of successful experience in K-12 education systems.

- The ability to establish good working relationships with school staff, administrators, and other partners.
- Knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, public, and non-public funding sources available to support education.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of State/Federal Programs such as: Title I, Title IIa, Title III, Section 31a, Section 41a, and reporting methods for such grants.
- Demonstrated ability in gathering, analyzing, and preparing data for presentation.
- Experience in preparation for audits.
- Experience in interpreting and enforcing compliance issues and in reviewing and monitoring State/Federal grants and programs.
- Experience working with accounting office in preparing budget line items and program guidelines, and various operating systems such as the Michigan Educational Information System (MEIS), the Michigan Educational Grants System (MEGS), and eFinance.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to determine compliance with program and grant guidelines and criteria, monitor status of multiple grants and programs.
- Ability to monitor status of multiple grants and programs; and
- Capability to effectively communicate verbally during presentation to school staff, administrators, board members, and community partners.
- Oversight of Federal, State, and Local grants.
- Assist in preparation of grant and technology audits.
- Monitors programs /schools to assure grant budget allocations and programs are aligned with grant regulations and allowable use of funds.
- Assist with staff Time and Effort Requirements.
- Work with building administrator/staff and offer technical assistance and training when needed.
- Assist with the District Improvement and the School Improvement Processes.
- Assist with research request for third party sources.
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from colleagues, managers, and professional development sessions.
- Build relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure a safe, welcoming, and collaborative work environment.
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission.

Salary : $45,692 - $84,410
