Drop Bury Manager

Lantech Communications, LLC is seeking an experienced Drop Bury Manager to lead our underground cable installation projects. This role involves strategic management, contractor coordination, and ensuring high-quality execution within budget and deadlines. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Head office: Elk Grove Village, IL.

Position type: 1099 contract, full-time.

Requirements:

• Experience: 5 years in drop bury or underground cable installation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of underground construction methods, permitting processes, and industry regulations (OSHA, DOT).
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
• Technical: Proficiency in tracking KPIs, budgeting, and contractor coordination.
• Communication: Strong ability to liaise with clients, municipalities, and internal teams.
• Certifications (preferred): OSHA 30, DOT Compliance Training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee project execution and coordinate with service providers.
• Ensure projects meet budget, timeline, and quality standards.
• Identify and resolve critical issues, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other legal and safety regulations.
• Communicate with municipalities and permitting authorities.
• Allocate resources efficiently and supervise team performance.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (crew efficiency, complaint rates, completion timelines).
• Provide reports to upper management and clients.

Team Structure:

Subordinates:

• Supervisors (2 people): Oversee operations, quality control, and field issue resolution.
• Field Crews (25 teams, 2 technicians per team): Execute drop bury installations.

Directly reporting to:

• Director of Installations.

Communication & Workflow:

• Daily morning call (Manager Supervisors): Task assignments, project updates, and issue resolution.
• Supervisors oversee 12-13 teams each, ensuring work quality and safety compliance.
