Lantern Government Solutions is seeking an experienced General Engineer to support the VA Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) operations. This role will provide overarching professional services focusing on engineering in all aspects of healthcare delivery processes/systems and ensure appropriate infrastructure, facilities, and equipment are available for the medical mission. This is a full-time (40 hour per week) contract opportunity in Tucson, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for military spouses, dependents, veterans, or anyone interested in supporting the military healthcare system in a civilian capacity.
About the Role:
- Provide engineering expertise to support CMOP operations and infrastructure
- Analyze and optimize healthcare delivery processes and systems
- Ensure appropriate infrastructure, facilities, and equipment are available for pharmacy operations
- Develop and implement engineering solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support CMOP objectives
- Conduct facility assessments and recommend improvements
- Participate in project planning and execution related to CMOP infrastructure and systems
- Provide technical guidance on equipment selection, installation, and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Work Schedule:
Day Shift scheduled 8-hour shifts within facility hours of operation (Monday through Friday 6:30 AM 12:00 AM). Overtime may be required throughout the life of the contract.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering - ABET-accredited program, or
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with courses including differential and integral calculus and five of following areas of engineering science or physics:
- Statics, dynamics
- strength of materials (stress-strain relationships)
- fluid mechanics, hydraulics
- thermodynamics
- electrical fields and circuits
- nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties)
- any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in engineering, preferably in healthcare or pharmaceutical settings
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in relevant software tools and technologies
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with healthcare delivery processes and systems
- Familiarity with VA environment
