What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Nurse position at Lantern Light Camps?
Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of kids? Lantern Light Camps (LLC) is a Coed Day and Overnight program, located on Northwood Lake, Northwood, NH. We are seeking four camp nurses to work a six day/five-night camp program. Each nurse can select a camp week 7/6 till 8/16 (Sunday to Friday schedule). Nurses may opt to work multiple weeks, if desired.
We host approximately 100 campers a week, which are a mixture of day and overnight campers who come from a diverse set of backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Overall management of a health house serving about 140 children and adults
Precise management of prescribed, OTC, and standing order medications
Coordination of care between home and camp providers, and skillful communication/collaboration of residential camp staff
Conduct appropriate, timely, thorough and proactive communication with families regarding campers’ medical care
Develop and implement nursing care plans while monitoring health of the community, triaging and assessing camper and counselor illnesses/injuries, and making appropriate referrals to elevated levels of care as necessary
Proper documentation and maintenance of camper and counselor health records
