We are seeking a highly skilled, strategic, and technical leader to join Lantheus as the Associate Director of Revenue Accounting. This role, responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting, will be collaborating closely with Customer Service, Commercial, General Accounting, FP&A and Internal Audit, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Global Revenue and Technical Accounting. This individual will have a strong technical accounting background, driving timely and accurate financial closes, effective internal controls, and compliance with company policies. This candidate will be an effective leader, capable of managing their team, driving process improvements, and establishing scalable, efficient systems.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Create and review accounting memos, 606 contract reviews and positions related to significant, complex, and/or non-standard agreements / transactions and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including legal and commercial department to appropriate financial outcomes are attained.
- Responsible for monthly and quartlery revenue close processes, including timely and accurate completion of revenue related account reconciliations, accruals, and analyses. Review significant, complex, and/or non-standard entries, credit memos and adjustments in the GL.
- Review revenue contracts and ensure appropriate recognition to validate calculations of revenue agree to underlying contracts
- Partner with the Customer Service team to ensure that billing processes are timely and accurate, and assist in resolving questions and reconciling items
- Serve as the subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, particularly around revenue recognition under ASC 606, providing guidance, ensuring best practices and educating stakeholders.
- Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 requirement as related to revenue recognition, ERP, and related systems. Business owner of the SOX narrative, workflow, and relevant key controls. Assist with the internal and external revenue related audit requests.
- Assist in tracking and improving OTC and related revenue KPIs, performance metrics, executive and management reporting dashboards, and operating targets.
- Foster strong relationships and work cross-functionally within the organization on new initiatives and special projects such as evolving revenue models, strategic partnership programs and new product launches.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, optimizing revenue-related processes for scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness in alignment with Lantheus’ growth trajectory.
- Provide senior leadership with key insights on revenue performance, potential risks, and areas for process improvements to drive better decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Lead, retain, and develop a high-performing direct report by supporting their growth, providing motivation, prompt feedback, and coaching, while setting clear expectations and holding individuals accountable for performance and behavior.
- Assist in other ad-hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, demonstrating a successful track record and progressive revenue recognition responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; CPA certification is mandatory. An MBA or Master’s in Accounting is preferred.
- Significant experience in technical accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition.
- Proficiency in manual and automated accounting systems; experience with SAP S/4HANA or other large ERP systems is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational abilities with a proven capacity to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively, along with strong leadership skills.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work weekends to meet deadlines and occasional travel as needed.
- This position is site-based and requires a presence on-site at least three days per week.
