Lapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as Injection Molding Die Setters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sets up and adjusts injection molding machine following process cycle sheets, mold water diagrams, and utilizing knowledge of machine functions.
Reads specifications to determine machine set up and prescribed temperature and time settings.
Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold or mold components and machine accessories onto machine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using hoist, power tools and hand tools, sets up molds onto machine press bed according to guide marks.
- Attaches connecting lines, such as, air, oil, or water to mold and adjust controls to regulate mold temperature.
- Supports shift foreman to provide maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system.
- Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
- Responsible for the appropriate set up and removal of molds.
- Supports shift foreman to provide preventive maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Appropriately identifying molds as ok to run, needs preventive maintenance or needs repair.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have own tools.
- Appropriate knowledge of the methods, tools, materials, and equipment associated with mold settings.
- Mechanical ability as well as physical strength and agility.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other employees.
Shift Schedules
MOLDING (MLD) – 40 Hours per week*
2nd shift: 2:00 pm – 10:00pm (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)
3rd shift: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am (Mon-Fri, Sat. as needed)
