The Computer Technician functions as a part of the district Technology Services Department, reporting to the Director of Technology. This position provides support and maintenance for the district’s computer and audio-visual systems and related infrastructures. In addition, the technician assists with the setup and installation of any newly acquired systems, software, or components and is expected to work independently and collaboratively at the direction of the Director of Technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide direct hardware and software support to end users including instructional staff, support staff, and students
- Collaborate with the Technology team to support the environment and maintain high-quality of service
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain audio-visual support systems, including but not limited to digital projection systems, interactive displays, televisions, sound systems, etc.
- Install, repair, and maintain technology infrastructure hardware and structured cabling
- Receive, configure, and distribute new technology equipment and supplies
- Assist in the maintenance of an accurate technology asset inventory and supportive documents
- Initiate third-party repair processes when necessary
- Utilize and maintain the LPCSC work order system
- Assist systems and network administrators in performing routine network management tasks such as computer imaging, software deployment, summer maintenance and updates
- Administer student device deployment trouble shooting, and repairs
- Continuously strive to improve the performance of the computing environment through updates/patches/recommendations
- Continuously strive to improve the process of timely and quality technical support
- Develop and document procedures and correctives to enhance end user experiences
- Perform any other computer/technology/AV activities as assigned by the Director of Technology

REQUIREMENTS:
Vehicle and valid driver’s license- Customer service and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for serving and helping teachers and students
- Willingness to learn new skills and concepts
- Eagerness to pursue professional growth and certification opportunities
- Willingness to work outside regular schedule when needed and be on call as necessary for special projects/events
HELPFUL BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Familiarity with Windows, Chrome, and Apple operating systems- Basic knowledge of SCCM
- Basic knowledge of wireless network, access points, and cabling
- Basic understanding of Google apps, Microsoft Office, and other educational online programming
Terms of Employment
Twelve months a year. Salary and work year to be established by Board of School Trustees
