Summary: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment in LAPP Cable Works, LAPP USA, and LAPP USA Systems. This involves managing safety programs, conducting inspections and audits, investigating accidents, and implementing corrective actions. The coordinator organizes safety training, promotes a strong safety culture, and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manages the near-miss program in Florham Park.
• Champions the implementation of the ISO 45001 management system.
• Champions the implementation of safety-related corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Coordinate OSHA-mandated training programs for all employees, depending on the employee interaction.
• Coordinate CPR and 1st respondent trainings.
• Coordinate fire inspections (fire extinguisher and sprinkler system), generator activations, and safety drills to ensure preparedness.
• Oversee safety re-enactment exercises to reinforce safety procedures.
• Analyze safety key performance indicators (KPIs) such as the Occupational Recordable Incident Rate (ORIR), Safety Observations, and Lost-Time Injury (LTI) to identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
• Oversee the analysis of near-miss reports to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Stay updated on OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Participate in OSHA record keeping of 300 and 300A logs
• Ensure that LAPP Florham Park Facilities are compliant with applicable safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• 3 years of experience in a safety role.
• Knowledge of OSHA industry standard is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
WORK LOCATION: This position is in New Jersey and reports to the Florham Park, NJ office.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 0%-5% of domestic travel. A valid driver’s license is expected to be maintained.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective in gathering and analyzing disparate data elements as well as presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, customers, the general public and global colleagues
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite—specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. They should also be familiar with photography, graphic design, and interactive online marketing tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. COMPENSATION: After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
