SUMMARY: Lapp Tannehill is a leading national distributor of cable, connectors and electrical connectivity technologies based in Savage, Minnesota. Under the general direction of the Sr. Director Supply Chain & Customer Operations, this individual is responsible for managing 2 buying direct reports along with owning a vendor portfolio for buying. This role will have the responsibility to coordinate the end-to-end supply chain which includes the planning and strategy of sourcing and purchasing of materials. The Supply Chain Manager will control costs as well as make recommendations to improve productivity to achieve individual and company goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Primary Role: Responsible for managing a package of manufacturing partners (suppliers)
- Place purchase orders for selected suppliers / Make buying decisions
- Monitor open purchase orders for date accuracy
- Monitor fill-rate, on-time arrival, and inventory turns
- Assist sales (internal customer) on day-to-day sourcing questions
- Secondary Role: Manage, train, and develop two additional Buyers on the Team.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to meet customer needs and minimize excess stock.
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, and finance to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
- Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies
- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and enhance supply chain performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in supply chain management and assess their potential benefits for the organization.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop career development plans for team members
- Address and resolve any supply chain-related issues that may impact customer service.
- Promote sustainable and ethical practices within the supply chain.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a college or university program; or minimum of five years of buying experience in the wire and cable industry
• MBA (preferred)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: May require occasional domestic travel to vendors or customers.
WORK LOCATION: Incumbents of this position whose residence is in MN will be required to work a hybrid schedule (3x per week in office- Tues & Wed 1). This position is located in the US. Travel to the Savage, MN office may be required ad hoc when business demands.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Individuals in this role should possess/develop robust working knowledge TDF CRM, Prelude ERP and Microsoft Office365 Suite, with particular proficiency in using Excel. Additionally, this position requires a proven track record of success in utilizing Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficiency in the English language both verbal and written is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, financial ratios, and business equations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

COMPENSATION: After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
