JOB SUMMARY:
The Curriculum Specialist is a full-time, benefited position responsible for supporting faculty pursuits of exceptional quality in teaching through aligned curricula and the rigorous assessment of outcomes to ensure continuous quality improvement. This role will engage with faculty in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating educational curricula across a specific subject area or program, ensuring alignment with learning standards by overseeing the design, review, and update processes. Collaboration with the faculty will often include providing training on the development of curriculum materials and assessing student learning outcomes to make necessary adjustments.

- Curriculum Development: Supporting exceptional standards of instructional quality and curriculum design across the broad spectrum of programs in the College.
- Implementation and Oversight: Partners with faculty to enhance curriculum delivery, to help drive continuous improvement through feedback and mapping of course-level outcomes, assignments and assessments.
- Quality Assurance and Evaluation: Facilitates curriculum evaluation, guides data analysis to strengthen student outcomes, and develops training to address learning challenges.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as a key collaborator with the Center for Excellence in Teaching team, in developing strategies that enhance teaching, learning, and faculty development across the institution.
- Works with administrators, faculty, and other stakeholders to gather input on curriculum development
- Monitor curriculum updates and changes through Academic Standards Committee and collaboratively assist faculty program directors and the office of Performance and Planning in ensuring changes are reflected in assessment processes.
Other responsibilities may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Curriculum Design & Instruction, Education, Instructional Design or a related field
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design in an educational setting
- Experience with technology tools for curriculum development and delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Curriculum Design & Instruction, Education, Instructional Design or a related field.
- Experience working in a higher education environment, specifically with faculty and academic programs.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in higher education, such as online learning, competency-based education, and learner-centered teaching practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering professional development for faculty.
- Experience with curriculum management systems and instructional technologies.
- Familiarity with Quality Matters design standards.
