What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Cable Technician position at Laredo Internet?
Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive technician to carry out daily installation and maintenance tasks as required. OSHA certifications and training is highly encouraged and as important as the ability to terminate and run cables.. The ideal candidate will be able to perform dependably all installation tasks both safely and with its much skill as possible. Please note heights of up to 100 ft may be required. If this is the case you must be comfortable with the heights as well as safety equipment. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Duties
- Install and maintain wireless and cable equipment.
- Troubleshoot IP and switch issues.
- Ability to transport from place to place with materials.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette while handling incoming calls and inquiries.
- Work with other team members for installations.
- Plan and execute connections and designs for new network segments
- Communicate and work with new customers portraying respect as well as dependability.
- Ability to terminate fiber and cat5/cat6.
- Utilize power tools and equipment for both residential and commercial locations
- Work well with others and be dependable as a coworker
Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- Proven experience installing and managing CAT5/cat6 cabling.
- Posess ability to fuse/splice fiber cable
- Proficiency standard computer skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Familiarity with phone systems
- Strong vendor management skills to maintain productive relationships.
