The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an Emergency Communications Supervisor to oversee and supervise our Emergency Communications Operators. This is a hands-on supervisory role with assigned shifts. The position requires availability for shifts in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays, and flexibility to meet operational needs as necessary.
The Emergency Communications Supervisor will provide administrative and supervisory support to the Communications Center, train staff, and perform the duties of an Emergency Communications Operator, including dispatching law enforcement, fire, medical, and emergency services personnel and equipment.
*CPR, EMD and NCIC/CCIC Certifications under the Qualifications must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
*Starting pay range for this position is $83,486 - $100,184 annually.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Supervisors perform all duties of Emergency Communications Operators and serve as a Communications Training Officer for Dispatch trainees
- Exercises direct and indirect supervision of Emergency Communications Operators
- Provides administrative support to the Communications Manager by collaborating on schedules, policies, procedures, training, goals and objectives of the Communications Center
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population to include the public, staff, other criminal justice agency personnel, county government staff and volunteers
- Learn applicable Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures pertaining to the dispatch of law enforcement, fire and medical for the County and user agencies
What We're Looking For:
- Experienced emergency communications operator with 2 years of increasing responsibilities working with law, fire, and/ or EMS departments
- Effective communication, both verbally and in writing via various forms of communication
- Supervisory principles, procedures and methods including selection, training, discipline and evaluation
- Work under high stress, exercise good judgment and prioritize tasks to maintain efficient operation of the communications center
- Ability to adopt emerging technologies enhancing team collaboration and productivity
- Honest and ethical professional that can guide a team through changes and challenges

- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible duties in a communications center required; experience working for a law enforcement agency preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Possession of CPR certification by date of hire required.
- Possession of EMD certification required.
- NCIC/CCIC Certification required.

Supplemental Information
Schedule:
- Full-time position with availability to work on shift schedule as required.
- Weekend days may vary but will be required, including holidays.
- Ability to carry a pager and be in an on-call status as backup and to cover vacations.
