WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Under the direction and guidance of the Manager of Clinical Services, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive strengths-based behavioral health services to homeless and/or marginally housed transitional aged youth (TAY) in milieu and shelter settings. The Youth Access Point Clinician is responsible for crisis intervention and de-escalation, behavioral health screenings and assessment, brief individual therapy, and linkage and referrals for youth being assessed for housing through Larkin Streets Youth Access Points. In addition, the Youth Access Point Clinician is responsible for clinical consultation and professional development to program staff serving the Youth Access Point and the Larkin Street agency. You will employ a strength-based model using trauma-informed interventions, emphasizing Harm Reduction and Restorative Practices in behavioral health work with youth and clinical consultation to staff.
This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide on-site crisis intervention, behavioral health screenings, clinical assessments, and support services at Larkin Streets Youth Access Points (milieu and shelter setting).
- Provide brief mental health and/or substance use support for youth being assessed for housing through Larkin Streets Youth Access Points.
- Provide clinical consultation and professional development to staff on a range of behavioral health issues and best practices for (TAY) population.
- Facilitate and coordinate Collaborative Case Conferences to assist in determining treatment plans for clients with behavioral health concerns.
- Ability to travel independently throughout the community to Larkin Street's various program and partner agency sites.
- Act as Program Manager during On-Call rotation.
- Assist with special projects and other assignments as requested by the Senior Leadership team and the Chief of Programs.
- Support youth with linkage to community resources, as needed.
WHO YOU ARE:
- You have a Master's Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, or closely related field.
- You have a current license: Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
- We will also consider candidates that are registered with the BBS as an Associate.
- You are passionate about the Larkin Street Youth Services mission to end youth homelessness.
- You have some experience working with Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), aged 18 to 25 of diverse backgrounds, similar to the client base at Larkin Street Youth Services.
- *BONUS* You have experience working in shelter, transitional, and/or permanent supportive housing programs.

- You work best in a hybrid, mostly on-site and in person working environment.
- You are willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays occasionally.
