Youth Intern

Pinoleville Pomo Nation is dedicated to empowering our youth through education, cultural engagement, and leadership development. We work closely with our communities to create positive, lasting change, providing students with the tools they need to succeed in life while maintaining a strong connection to their heritage.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Intern to support our work with Native American youth and students. As a Youth Intern, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with Native American students, participate in cultural programming, and help facilitate activities that inspire youth to embrace their identity, education, and community involvement. 

This youth internship is an opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in community outreach, education, and youth development, with a focus on supporting Native American youth. 

Pay: $17/hr. up to 15hrs/ week.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

• Assist in organizing and facilitating educational, cultural, and leadership programs for students.
• Collaborate with staff to create and implement engaging activities that promote academic success, cultural awareness, and personal growth.
• Serve as a mentor and role model to program participants, offering guidance and support in their personal and academic development.
• Help coordinate events, workshops, and community gatherings, including talking circles, art sessions, and cultural demonstrations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with youth (as a mentor, tutor, camp counselor, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be a current student or recent graduate with an interest in youth development, education, social work, or related fields.
