Job Title: Minor’s Compromise Coordinator
Type of Position: Full-time
Hours: M-F Flexible
Location: LHP Headquarters - Long Beach, CA. (2 days in Office)
Pay: $24. hr.- $33. hr.
Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Attention to Detail
- Accuracy in calendaring court deadlines, hearings, discovery, and filings.
- The Minor’s Compromise Coordinator will be responsible for helping manage the Minor’s Compromise process in place in the firm. Duties include:
- Drafting, reviewing and filing Minor’s Compromise petitions
- Calendaring hearings, and remote appearance reservations
- Scheduling and prepping appearance attorneys
- Educating and assisting clients in the Minor’s Compromise process (i.e.: Preparing them for hearings, making bank deposits, annuities and providing documentation)
- Communicating with adjusters and insurance companies, when necessary, to obtain settlement checks and getting MC waivers and releases.
- Light paralegal-type tasks such as preparing and filing supplemental declarations, amended petitions, checking tentative rulings and dockets, and ordering approved orders.
- The Minor’s Compromise Coordinator will also perform administrative duties such as receiving and organizing mail, scanning documents, and sending out mail. Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Handle all Spanish speaking calls, including but not limited to assisting clients with their needs/inquires and following up accordingly
- Call clients to obtain information required to draft petition
- Drafting and collating attachments to MC petitions.
- Sending documents to clients and obtaining signatures
- Sending letters out to and calling clients to inform them of upcoming hearings
- Reviewing MBT’s for accuracy
- Preparing clients for MC hearings
- Follow up to make sure that we receive signed releases/CMS forms/proof of deposits/settlement checks
- Send correspondence, including settlement checks and orders to clients, adjusters
- Receive and send correspondence via mail
- Perform all other miscellaneous duties assigned by the Demand Writers they assist
Requirements:
