We are seeking a part time Accounting Assistant. This is a regular part time position working 25 - 30 hours per week. You must be able to work in our Bellingham office.
The Accounting Assistant will support our finance department in daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, document organization, and reporting. The successful candidate is organized, detail oriented, and willing to learn.

The Accounting Assistant will support our finance department in daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, document organization, and reporting. The successful candidate is organized, detail oriented, and willing to learn.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with data entry of financial transactions into accounting software
- Accurately post accounts receivables into the accounting software, and make bank deposits
- Take payments, via check, ACH, credit cards and record accurately in accounting software and billing software insuring daily totals balance
- Run monthly accounting reports (aging receivable, aging WIP, cash reports, etc.)
- Assist with monthly billing and client inquiries
- Help maintain accurate financial records by filing and organizing documents
- Assist in managing accounts payable (review for accuracy, provide backup documentation, process for timely payment)
- Provide support to the accounting team by gathering information and preparing documents
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and good record keeping
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Problem solving, follow through, and communication with team members
- Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in accounting preferred
- Proficient with MS Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Familiar with accounting software a plus
- Prior AP, AR experience a plus
Hourly range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
