What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General counsel - Commercial Lending (Regional Bank) position at Larson Maddox?
We are currently partnering with a Regional Bank located in Bethesda. Maryland that is looking to add to their dynamic legal team at the Assistant General Counsel level. This values-driven Bank provides personal and business banking services to a variety of clients with a specific focus on loans and commercial real estate financings. This role would have a heavy focus on commercial lending and is a major part of their growth strategy for this year and beyond. This individual would also be responsible for supervising outside counsel and advising on certain legal contracts and agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide transactional and regulatory legal advice and support on commercial lending transactions
- Review and advise on legal contracts and agreements
- Counsel Chief Lending Officers and market executive in Commercial Real Estate
- Supervise outside transaction and litigation counsel
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited university
- Direct commercial lending transactional experience in a law firm or in-house setting
- 4 years of experience with commercial lending
- Strong negotiation skills
- Licensed to practice in either DC, MD, or VA
