Position Summary:
The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reports for our clients and internal stakeholders. This role will require strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. As part of a remote-based team, this position offers flexibility, with occasional travel required for team meetings or client-related events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant financial standards and regulations.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Coordinate with the investment management team to reconcile portfolios and ensure accurate reporting of client assets.
- Prepare financial statements and assist with internal and external audits as necessary.
- Maintain and enhance reporting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on financial reporting procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all financial reports meet regulatory and tax requirements.
- Support senior leadership with financial analysis and special projects as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure financial goals are met.
- Manage ad-hoc reporting requests from clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CFA designation is a plus).
- 5 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, ideally within the wealth management or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools (experience with portfolio management software is a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with remote teams and interact with clients.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with remote work environments and self-motivation to deliver high-quality work independently.
