Job Summary And Qualifications
The Director of Clinical Informatics (DCI) is the facility resource responsible for the implementation, adoption, integration, and operational oversight of applications used by clinical staff in the provision and documentation of patient care. The DCI coordinates the completion of project assessments, the development of education plans and materials, and the optimization of workflow and systems for new implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. This individual is the facility liaison between IT&S and clinical staff. The DCI participates in company-wide communities including Systems Governance and Operations (SGO), Advanced Clinical Applications (CPOE, Evidence Based Order Sets, Provider Documentation, ePrescribe), EHR Optimization, Nursing Informatics / Evidence Based Clinical Documentation, Meaningful Use, and the Clinical Information Integrity Program (CIIP).

- You will assume a leadership role in the implementation of clinical applications, change management, and support after go live.
- You will evaluate impact of changes to workflow and processes by identifying gaps and opportunities.
- You will provide communication to executive team, medical staff committees, facility leadership, and other stakeholders.
- You will oversee education and training for system users and evaluates effectiveness.
- You will provide support for system go live, upgrades, and enhancements.
- You will encourage and support system adoption and optimization.
- You will monitor system use through reports and dashboards.
- You will participate in facility rounding and seeks feedback from providers and other clinical staff.
- You will address and resolve user complaints.
- You will research and submit requests for enhancements. You will participate in facility and division committees and meetings to share information and receive feedback.
- You will participate in system performance improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness, improve clinician and patient satisfaction, maintain the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR), and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- You will work cooperatively with other facilities and IT&S to promote standardized orders, screens, and processes where possible.
- You will participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of experience
- BSN required
- Master’s degree Nursing or Informatics preferred
- RN license required
