History
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
Position Summary
The Clinical Informatics Associate is responsible for specific tasks associated with the implementation of clinical application systems within Martin County Hospital District. The Clinical Informatics Associate ensures that the system meets the functional requirements of MCHD and serves as a communication intermediary with other departmental users during development workflows and installation of application software. Using a Nursing perspective, the Clinical Informatics Associate works closely with the Information Technology Department to ensure the clinical user requests are considered during the definition of functional requirements of clinical software applications.

Education
- At least a Licensed Vocational Nurse. LVN / LPN Certification Required

Physical Requirements
High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment required for at-risk procedures. Exposure to risk in the form of disease, radiation, and disoriented and / or combative patients. May be requested to be on standby and work extended shifts in situations which are considered emergent.
