Collections Specialist

We're looking for a Collections Specialist to be accountable and responsible for all aspects of quality service for employees and clients. The ideal candidate for this role will contact and assist clients in the process of obtaining payment regarding outstanding and delinquent balances on account. Also contribute to the new client intake process to assist in the seamless transition from prospect to client.

Collections Specialist Responsibilities:

• Manages the entirety of the collections process which includes, providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining accounts - Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos
• Complete and document a minimum of 150 collection calls each week. These calls include traditional collection calls and new client calls
• Processes all cash receipts (including incoming wire/ACH payments and checks) across multiple entities
• Weekly and Monthly reporting to VP, Controller
• Coordinates weekly team collections blitz as applicable
• Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collections process
• Superior customer service to our internal clients, external clients and field employees
• Identify and reconcile payment issues
• Ensure terms are up to date in accounting system
• Works with Payroll & Billing Manager to ensure invoicing instructions received from clients are up to date
• Generates and ensures statements are sent out to clients monthly
• Other miscellaneous projects upon request

Collections Specialist Requirements:

• Proficiency in Word and Excel
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Good time management skills
• Able to deliver quality customer service
• Excellent attention to detail
• Work well in a team environment
• Able to maintain confidential information

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in accounting preferred
