Corporate Staff Accountant

LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading financial services firm in the heart of Chicago, that is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is back in the office three days a week in the Loop and budgeted up to a base of $75,000 with additional bonus eligibility.

We are looking for a skilled Corporate Staff Accountant to support our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Corporate Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations across multiple business units
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
• Perform various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal entries
• Assist with annual audit preparation and provide support to external auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related issues

Corporate Staff Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
• CPA certification preferred, but not required
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Advanced Excel skills

• Experience with financial reporting software
• Familiarity with GAAP principles
• Proficiency in ERP systems
