Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join their dynamic industrial manufacturing team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and managing the company's cost structure, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting cost-efficiency initiatives. This role works closely with supply chain, production, and operations teams to improve financial performance and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

• Position is hybrid, with two days working from home per week.
  
  

Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory analysis
• Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain cost discrepancies
• Monitor and analyze cost structures, recommending process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure accurate recording of inventory and production costs through regular reviews
• Work with supply chain, production, and operations teams to maintain accurate costing data
• Support audits and physical inventory reviews
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations
  
  

Cost Accountant Requirements:

• 3 years in cost accounting or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication. Experience in manufacturing or production is a plus
• Provide financial analysis for special projects
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Participate in process improvements and automation initiatives
