Our client is a trusted leader in the food industry, delivering high-quality products to retailers and consumers nationwide. We are seeking a Deductions Analyst to join the finance team and play a key role in managing trade deductions, resolving disputes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
The Deductions Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, processing, and resolving customer deductions, including trade promotions, shortages, and pricing discrepancies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal teams to minimize revenue leakage and improve cash flow.
Deductions Analyst Responsibilities:
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve customer deductions related to trade promotions, pricing, shortages, and damages
- Validate deductions against agreements, promotional contracts, and invoices
- Work closely with sales, accounts receivable, and supply chain teams to resolve disputes efficiently
- Research discrepancies, provide supporting documentation, and recommend resolution strategies
- Process deduction claims in the ERP system and ensure proper general ledger coding
- Monitor aging deductions and follow up on outstanding claims
- Identify trends in deduction activity and provide recommendations for process improvements
- Assist in month-end close activities, including reporting and reconciliation of deductions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
Deductions Analyst Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in deductions management, accounts receivable, or trade finance (preferably in the food or consumer goods industry).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
